Breckenridge Place Facade Photos

August 1, 2013 // by Jason Henderson

Took these photos in the past few days. The Seneca-side brick facade is taking shape, and there are many new windows in-place around the back. Can’t wait to see this a month from now, I think by then the building will be nearly complete on the exterior.

Wow, lots of decking work has been moving along, and it’s really noticeable from the exterior because now all the window gaps look really dark from the outside looking in. There’s another set of wall panels sitting on the trailer to the east, and wood reinforcements have made their way to the fifth floor, so we’ll probably see those go up soon. These shots are from today and Monday.

Lot #14 (Number 112) is all done and Lot #2 is coming along. There’s a new gravel path towards Lot #19 (just sold, way in the back), so site work there should begin soon. The planned townhouses will go north-south along this new path, and also east-west along an additional drive to be built going east.

Some paving and landscaping work has begun in front of Building 3.4, and you can see Building 5’s framing making its way towards Casa Roma. The State Street storm water drainage pipe is paved over and looks completed, along with a stretch of sidewalk in front of the Williams House.

Purity Project: Resolution Vote on Tuesday July 23rd

July 19, 2013 // by Jason Henderson

The off-site parking lots made it into the final resolution here, and the next Planning Board meeting is Tuesday for the vote. It’s nice to see this project moving through site plan review. Resolution and Draft FEAF (Full Environmental Assessment Form) Part 3 below.

Brick facade installation has noticeably picked-up speed, and I saw a truck full of tub surrounds being unloaded today. I bet once both scaffolding platforms are laying bricks on the south face, it will go quite fast; maybe even finished or nearly done with bricks next week.

Fourth story wall panels are up, and steel stud walls look like they’re following suit. I wouldn’t want to be up there working this week though, temperatures in the high 90’s, yikes.

130 E Clinton St Updated Site Plan

July 16, 2013 // by Jason Henderson

Here are some updated site plans for 130 E Clinton St. Looks as if the parking has increased along the western edges and there are revisions along the interface with Prospect Street to account for the new retaining wall (and the bridge is now open again).
Also addressed in the correspondence here between David Herrick at TG Miller and Tim Logue at the City of Ithaca: there’s a possibility that the tie-backs from a previous retaining wall along Prospect St. extend up to 70 feet into the adjacent slope (into where 130 E Clinton St is proposed- see this previous post for a few details).

Amabel Proposed Site Photos

July 15, 2013 // by Jason Henderson

Amabel’s proposed site currently contains a house, detached garage, a barn, and a row and clusters of trees in a flat, grassy field. The site ends a few hundred feet before the rail tracks on the east, nearby the dam on Cayuga Inlet off Inlet Rd.

Collegetown Crossing Proposed Site Photos

July 14, 2013 // by Jason Henderson

307 College Ave as it sits now. It will be nice to see Collegetown Crossing move forward, so hopefully the parking will get sorted out sooner rather than later. A group of Cornell graduate students were tasked with updating the area’s parking study from 2000, and came to the general conclusion that there’s enough parking, but the location and price are inefficient. Mayor Svante Myrick has backed the project, and the revision or elimination of parking minimums.
