Brick facade is complete and more windows have been installed. From here on out the exterior changes will feature the remaining windows, window shades, the steel-framed glass sections on the overhang stack on the Seneca Street side, a finished roof (I think the green roof as an overhang on the ground floor has been axed in the final design), and a large sign at the Seneca-side entryway.

These photos were taken in the past week; there’s been further progress on the facade and window installations, and I’ve seen drywall pallets being hoisted onto each floor, so the interior work must be coming along.
Here’s the landscaping plan. Ingress/egress will be underneath and through the building on the West Seneca Street side, and includes 12 parking spaces. The plan was done by Trowbridge Wolf Michaels Landscape Architects, and includes ample new plantings like grasses, shrubs and trees, as well as the inclusion of the existing trees currently on the site.

Took these photos in the past few days. The Seneca-side brick facade is taking shape, and there are many new windows in-place around the back. Can’t wait to see this a month from now, I think by then the building will be nearly complete on the exterior.

Brick facade installation has noticeably picked-up speed, and I saw a truck full of tub surrounds being unloaded today. I bet once both scaffolding platforms are laying bricks on the south face, it will go quite fast; maybe even finished or nearly done with bricks next week.

The black waterproof coating has almost made its way around the building now, and bricks are being laid on the eastern and southern walls. It will be nice once the exterior gets wrapped-up on this project. I think it will look good, and blend well with the brick Dewitt Building next door.

About half the brick facade looks complete. I haven’t seen any drywall going in, so they’re probably still finishing up plumbing, electrical and HVAC on the interior. There’s a new layer of material on the roof as well, looks like sheets of EPDM or some other membrane.

Per Tompkins Weekly, Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services will begin accepting rental applications for Breckenridge Place on July 15, continuing to July 30. If you’re at all interested in securing a unit here, applications are available online. Applicants are being selected via a lottery due to the high demand the apartment complex is expected to generate, so good luck to all those who do apply.
Breckenridge Place is scheduled to be completed by fall 2013. Hopefully this news is a signal that everything is on schedule.

Western facade looks completed, and they’re closing in on completing the eastern half of the northern side. I imagine that doing the eastern and southern sides will be more tricky since there’s less room to maneuver the lifts and those sides have Seneca St. and Cayuga Street. Cayuga’s side has a decent setback, but Seneca is State Route 79, so beyond the setback and parking lane, it’s typically fast moving cars and truck traffic, which has been held-up further east for a couple weeks with the new sewer and water service work for the Seneca Way project.

Brick by brick, the north side facade is going up, and now there are a handful of windows in.
